Trauma Therapy

Past wounds can stay with us long after the hardest moments have passed — in memories that return without warning, in the way we protect ourselves, or in a sense that something inside us never quite settled. At Wellness with Andrea Jakucs & Associates, we offer gentle, respectful trauma therapy for adults in the Pasadena area and by telehealth across California, helping you heal at a pace you set.

Healing at a pace you set

Trauma can look different for everyone: painful memories, anxiety, feeling numb or on edge, or difficulty trusting others. For many of the adults we work with, old wounds are tangled up with family and intergenerational trauma — patterns, beliefs, and silences passed down through generations that are familiar to many Filipino Americans and other Asian Americans. In our work together, we never rush you to retell your story before you are ready. You decide how much, how fast, and where we focus.

How we work together

Your care is led by Andrea Cabrera Jakucs, a Filipino-American, Christian Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), together with our associate therapist, Elizabeth Tapang, AMFT. We take time to listen, to help you feel steadier and safer in your body, and to support PTSD recovery with evidence-based approaches tailored to your needs. If faith is part of your life, we can weave Christian faith into your care — always at your pace and only if you would like that. Healing is not a straight line, and we will not promise a particular outcome; we can promise that you will be heard, believed, and supported.

Fees and getting started

Sessions are 53 minutes, held by secure telehealth. Private pay fees are $200 per session with Andrea Cabrera Jakucs, LCSW, and $135 per session with our associate therapist, Elizabeth Tapang, AMFT. We provide monthly superbills that you can submit to your insurer for possible out-of-network reimbursement. We also welcome clients using the accepted insurance plans listed on our Therapy page.

You do not need to be ready to tell your whole story to begin. If you would like support, reach out — we would be glad to talk with you about what healing could look like, gently and at your pace.
