Andrea Cabrera Jakucs, LCSW

Andrea Cabrera Jakucs, LCSW 97252, is a group practice owner, a Catholic, and a Filipino-American licensed psychotherapist dedicated to promoting mental health and well-being. Holding a Master of Social Work from the University of Southern California, Andrea provides individual psychotherapy in English and Tagalog via telehealth. She offers workshops for organizations, conducts business consultations, provides clinical supervision, and engages in public speaking engagements. Andrea is the founder of the Filipino American Mental Health Professionals Facebook Group and Wellness with Andrea Jakucs & Associates, located in Pasadena, California. Her work has been featured in various news outlets, including Fox 11 Los Angeles, Los Angeles Times, NBC News, Canada's Omni News, and Balitang America. Elizabeth Tapang, AMFT

(Supervised by Andrea Cabrera Jakucs, LCSW)

Elizabeth Tapang, AMFT 148611, is a compassionate Filipino-American associate therapist dedicated to helping adults relate to their past, live richly in the present and move toward a more intentional future. Drawing from both professional training and personal experience caring for loved ones with mental health challenges, she brings warmth, empathy, and a strong commitment to client-centered care. Liz earned her Master’s in Clinical Psychology from Pepperdine University after transitioning from a career in TV post-production.

 

During her graduate training, she volunteered as a Crisis Chat Counselor with the Suicide Prevention Center (SPC) and completed her clinical internship at Didi Hirsch Mental Health Services, where she worked with children, adolescents, and their caregivers navigating complex trauma in a community mental health setting. Her therapeutic approach is rooted in reflective and psychodynamic practice while integrating strengths-based, trauma-informed, and attachment-focused frameworks. Outside of work, Liz enjoys exploring cafés around LA, playing Magic the Gathering, and engaging in her faith community. She is currently accepting new clients.

Dr. Robert Jakucs

Dr. Robert Jakucs (PSY32971) is a Marine Corps Combat Veteran who discovered a passion for psychology after deploying to Afghanistan in 2010 and reading the book “Man’s Search for Meaning” by Viktor Frankl. A History major in his undergraduate work, he attended Pepperdine University and completed his master’s and doctoral degrees. While in training he engaged in clinical placements at the Pepperdine University West Los Angeles Community Counseling Clinic, VA Sepulveda Ambulatory Care Center and VA Long Beach Health Care System.

 

He completed his pre-doctoral internship at the VA Sepulveda Ambulatory Care Center. His clinical areas of interest include trauma focused therapy, incorporating meaning/existential based approaches into evidence-based practice, spirituality, post-traumatic growth and resiliency. His professional memberships include the Catholic PsychotherapyAssociation, American Psychological Association and Marine Corps Association. He is a lifelong surfer, avid gardener and long-time student of classical Japanese martial arts. He is currently not accepting new patients.
