Dr. Robert Jakucs (PSY32971) is a Marine Corps Combat Veteran who discovered a passion for psychology after deploying to Afghanistan in 2010 and reading the book “Man’s Search for Meaning” by Viktor Frankl. A History major in his undergraduate work, he attended Pepperdine University and completed his master’s and doctoral degrees. While in training he engaged in clinical placements at the Pepperdine University West Los Angeles Community Counseling Clinic, VA Sepulveda Ambulatory Care Center and VA Long Beach Health Care System. He completed his pre-doctoral internship at the VA Sepulveda Ambulatory Care Center. His clinical areas of interest include trauma focused therapy, incorporating meaning/existential based approaches into evidence-based practice, spirituality, post-traumatic growth and resiliency. His professional memberships include the Catholic PsychotherapyAssociation, American Psychological Association and Marine Corps Association. He is a lifelong surfer, avid gardener and long-time student of classical Japanese martial arts. He is currently not accepting new patients.
